Accommodation

Chamanna Cluozza is the only serviced hut in the National Park. It is located in the heart of the park, at 1882 metres above sea level, and offers simple and cosy accommodation in rooms or mattress dormitories. The hut is an ideal starting point for hikes in the Val Cluozza, the first valley that the municipality of Zernez made available to the nascent National Park back in 1909.
The second accommodation in the National Park is located on the Pass dal Fuorn road: the Hotel Parc Naziunal Il Fuorn.
There is a wide range of accommodation options around the National Park, which you can book via the guest information centres in the villages or through private providers.

If you stay three nights or more, some hotels will grant various discounts for travelling on public transport. Please refer to the special tourist offers page for more information.

Arrival

We recommend you to study our travel map.
The National Park covers areas in the Lower and Upper Engadine and the Münstertal (canton of Graubünden, Switzerland). The Pass dal Fuorn (Ofenpass) road runs right through the park. The starting points of the hikes can usually be reached by car or by public transport (train or bus). Car-sharing vehicles are available in Scuol. There are car parks along the Pass dal Fuorn road (P1 to P10 – the number of parking spaces is limited). We recommend travelling by train and bus.

Getting to Val Trupchun: Take the Express Parc Naziunel (Alpintrans) to the Varusch hut at the start of Val Trupchun or the Engadinbus (line 608) to Prasüras car park, S-chanf Parc Naziunal bus stop.

Free return ticket Grisons
Fahrtziel Natur Graubünden offers return tickets for the price of a one-way journey. Visitors travelling by train (Rhaetian Railway) or bus (PostAuto) from within the canton buy a one-way public transport ticket, which must be confirmed by the organiser or guide at the destination, thereby making it valid for the return journey. This offer is only valid within the canton of Graubünden. The «Einfach für retour Graubünden» offer can be used for the following Swiss National Park activities:

  • Guided public excursions
  • Educational excursions (not valid for private excursions)
  • NATURAMA lecture series
