Trails in the higher areas remain under snow, and are generally only passable towards the end of June. This is a quiet time of year, and a good moment for observing the Park\u2019s wild life. The birds in particular are especially active at this time of year.<\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section><strong>A large number of Alpine flowers bloom from mid-June onwards.<\/strong><\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section>Walking through the mountain pine forests, the heady perfume of <a href=\"https:\/\/nationalpark.ch\/en\/flora-and-fauna\/mezereon\/\">striated mezereon<\/a> (Daphne striata) fills the air. From the beginning of June the masses of pink-flowered spring heath (Erica carnea) are a dominant feature in the forests of the National Park.<br \/>\nSpring is an excellent moment for observing <a href=\"https:\/\/nationalpark.ch\/en\/nature\/animals\/\">wildlife<\/a>. Dependent on fresh food after a long winter, game animals seek out the first patches of green in the lower lying areas.
